We are a family-owned and operated café and restaurant, tucked away in a stunning secret riverside location in Greenwich, South East London. Our story is one of shared passion—a husband-and-wife duo with a dream to become the heart of a local community, serving fresh, wholesome, and high-quality food we are proud to share.
Our philosophy centres around sourcing the finest ingredients and supporting local businesses whenever possible. From bread and pastries to meat, fish, and coffee, we collaborate with reputable, small, independent suppliers from across Greater London. For instance, our main bread and brioche supplier is a local Italian family business that earned the prestigious British Food Award in 2020. Our meat comes directly from a free-range farm, and we select our fish personally from Billingsgate Market. For dessert lovers, our ice cream comes from an award-winning, organic family farm, offering a variety of incredible flavours, including vegan options.
We also take pride in our curated beverage selection, which features freshly squeezed juices, homemade Cypriot lemonade, premium wines, sparkling options, and craft beers from the Meantime Brewing Company, located right here in Greenwich. Knowing the origin of every ingredient and ensuring the highest quality is at the core of everything we do.
When you visit us, you may spot the name “Lovell’s Wharf” displayed prominently on our wall. This is a tribute to the historical significance of our location—in memory of what was once a bustling dockyard that traded 118,000 tons of cargo, including copper, steel, aluminium, and granite. The name of our building, “The Granite Apartments,” serves as a nod to this rich history. We strive to honour and preserve the legacy of this incredible area while creating a warm, welcoming space for our community.
