Yerba Mate is a noteworthy beverage at the best of times; however, add a fusion of fruity flavours, and one has our extraordinarily unique Mate Sweet Orange Herbal Tea. Originating from Brazil, South America, our Mate Sweet Orange is like no other scented Herbal Tea we stock.
It goes above and beyond to be different, with defined notes of mango, smoky spiciness from the Yerba Mate itself and, of course, the sweetest orange tastes imaginable!
This is a striking and well-balanced infusion, with the further addition of liquorice giving rise to a soft, fresh, tangy note on the palate. And when its flavour isn’t enough, this tea, like all Yerba Mate Teas, offers astounding medicinal qualities when consumed as part of a healthy and active lifestyle.
Is Mate Sweet Orange Good for You
According to the latest scientific studies, this Herbal beverage can improve digestion, boost the metabolism and even reduce the risks of developing type-2 diabetes. It is the gift that keeps on giving brew after brew after brew. So, why not be part of something special today, we guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
The Yerba Mate plant (pronounced “Yer-bah-mah-tay”) can be found across South America. It belongs to the Holy (aquifoliaceae) family and is known botanically as Ilex paraguariensis.
The plant itself usually stands between 6 and 8 metres tall, with some even reaching up to 15 metres. But perhaps most important is the fact that Yerba Mate is among only a handful of plants to naturally contain caffeine, with others including Tea (Camellia sinensis), Coffee, cacao, kola and guarana.
Once, Yerba Mate was known as “the Drink of the Gods” by South American indigenous tribes, and “the Green God of the Indios” by European colonists. So, what makes it so “Godly”? Perhaps it’s the flavour; perhaps its the health benefits; perhaps it depends on the individual.
All we know is that, here at The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company, Yerba Mate is a big favourite of many of our customers. Will our Mate Sweet Orange be a favourite of yours, too? Find out today!
