How to Make Kosabei Tea
To make a perfect cup, you will need:
- 1 teaspoon of tea
- 8 oz (240 ml) of fresh boiled water
- A teapot or tea infuser
- A cup or mug
- Boil Fresh Water – Boil fresh cold water. For best flavour, make sure the water is boiling, this helps release the tea’s flavours when steeped.
- Rinse the Teapot or Infuser (Optional) – If using a teapot, preheat it by rinsing with hot water. This step helps maintain the brewing temperature during steeping.
- Measure the Leaves – Add 1 teaspoon of loose tea per 8 oz of water into your teapot or infuser. Adjust to taste if you prefer a stronger or weaker brew.
- Steep the Tea – Pour the fresh boiled water over the tea leaves. Steep for 3–5 minutes depending on your strength. Don’t over steep as it can be bitter.
- Strain and Serve – Remove the tea leaves by straining or removing the infuser, then pour the tea into your cup or mug. Enjoy it plain to savour the malty flavours or add milk, sugar or honey to taste.
- Enjoy – Take a moment to appreciate the warm, full bodied aroma and flavours of Kosabei Tea. Whether you’re having it alone or with others, it’s an experience of quality and tradition in every sip.
Optional ingredients are milk, sugar or honey if you prefer added sweetness or creaminess.
